I got my copy reserved at Gamestop which is only 2 minutes away from my house. Not to mention i got Fry's Electrionics here and Best Buy around my area. I wouldn't mind getting the box earlier than wait till the offical release date to play the game live online.

I picked up mine today in a Videogame store in Vicenza, Italy.

I got normal edition, but they had PLENTIES of both normal and CE. I was really puzzled by the sudden appearance of the boxes on the shelves given the release date... for a moment I tought they anticipated the release and that I could play from today :'(

Excuse the english

Can you please post which game store that was? This will help the rest of us track down our own copies.

Sure thing, it's called "Dominio", and I think it's an indipendent store.

Here's the webpage: http://www.dominiox.com/

it seems to be under construction, but the contact info are there, so I guess you can write them a mail or something if need be.

Excuse the English

I pre-ordered the CE from EB (Canada), my first time I ever pre-ordered anything, it better come in on time!

Your English is pretty good no need to apologize. I wonder how this smaller game shop got the game so soon. It makes me wonder if EB and Gamestop already have their shipments and are holding onto them until the release date is closer. I think that NCSoft should contact the corporate HQ for EB, Gamestop, Walmart, Bestbuy, and other large stores and have them issue a memo allowing retail stores to display Nightfall earlier.

It seems to me that the European retailers are getting it in early but the American ones make you wait.

When I got home I saw a package from play.com. Then I realised it wasn't addressed to me, and that I didn't order from play.com. Oh well...

I just checked my Outpost.com order (a.k.a. Fry’s Electronics) and they say its still back ordered both the CE and the prerelease package. Funny thing is you can get a Pre Release package at Fry's right now.

I hope mine comes on time also - I preordered mine off Amazon.com but I didn't get the CE. I hope A-net would give us some sort of grace period of a day or two with the prerelease kit but I guess they opted to make it 'fair' to people. (I wonder what they'll do if they run out of CEs like with Factions? This time there's no early access/backup key to let people play while waiting on it.)

Once upon a time, in a previous life, I worked retail (U.S.).
In the retail world, new release software/video games do not have a "hard street date," especially a game such as Guild Wars, such as movie and music releases. Typically, the distributor tries to manipulate the release through shipping, but if you get it early, you can sell it early.
Now this will also be dictated by specific store and company policies and the like.
It's not unusual to see software in the hands of consumers before the announced release.

I'd much rather have the box in my hands early and wait for the server to go live than the other way round.

All the Adelaide EB stores are playing "funny buggers" with me. One told me they will have there copies for purchase the day before, another told be they will have there copies a bit before but not sell them until the official release date. However the CBD store (where I pre ordered) told me if I am lucky they will distribute the day before only to those that pre ordered. Personally I am not to concerned as long as they have the copies by the 27th due to the fact that when Nightfall goes online it will be 5:30 pm here in Adelaide, meaning we would have had all day to get our copies before the start. After the blunder with Factions we deserve some good service this time around (had to wait nearly 3 weeks after it was released to get my copy)
